The Chelsea Garden Show marked the launch of the 'English Garden' Collection. This truly royal and quintessentially English event sets the latest trends, features the newest and most desirable products and creates an explosion of colours and scents.


For the occasion and to welcome in the summer, Marc Demarquette has created a new collection of quintessentially English floral caramel cream chocolates called 'The English Garden' Collection consisting of 6 English flavours using classic ingredients from all across our "Green and Pleasant Land" - flowers which we traditionally find in our gardens to some more unusual plants now grown in Britain:

Hedgerow Elderflower,
Wild Violet,
English Lavender,
Cornish Manuca and
- not forgetting the wonderful work of the bees - Heather Honey.

Product Spotlight

A pure luxury square truffle made using the very finest cocoas from around the world, created exclusively by Marc Demarquette. These exquisite Chelsea Cobble truffles are freshly made using a delicate melange of the world's rarest single origin cocoa and the freshest hampshire cream. Included in this blend is the rare Wild cocoa and multi award winning Araguani. The thin shell is also made from this secret blend and gently dusted with pure cocoa powder.
The truffle bares the name of one of the most prestigious and important districts of London with an age old history dating back to the Tudor period when the streets of London were cobbled.

Busy creating secret Tea Garden in our shop - will reopen on 1st July

The English Garden Collection delights Chelsea Flower Show visitors

Following the success of 'The Great British Orchard' Collection, Marc Demarquette has created a new collection of quintessentially English floral caramel cream chocolates called 'The English Garden' Collection with flavours including Rose, Violet, Lavender and Elderflower. The collection was exclusively previewed during the Chelsea Flower Show on the Tregothnan Stand (MW3), where Marc took the opportunity to talk to visitors of the show.

Tribute to Master Pastry Chef Gaston Lenotre

We are saddened by the news of the passing of master pastry chef Gaston Lenotre, who became known as "one of the greatest masters of taste".

As a young boy, Marc Demarquette was treated to fine Lenotre patisseries when visiting his grandmother, who was a frequent and loyal customer of Monsieur Lenotre at his first pastry shop in Normandy. Inspired by his talent, passion, creativity and rejection of mass production methods, Marc trained at the prestigious Maison Lenotre, where he was honoured to personally meet the master patissier.

”Gaston Lenotre was a true professional demanding only the highest standards. It is a great honour to have met and learned my craft from such a true master. He taught me never to compromise on quality, strive for perfection and to pass on the knowledge and skills of artisan craftsmanship to future generations. He will be truly missed, but his inspiration lives on.”

Pepper & Salt Collection launched January 2009

The limited edition Pepper & Salt Collection comprises 6 freshly hand-made ganache chocolates. World-famous salts and peppers are infused in British cream which is blended and enrobed with the world's best chocolate from highly acclaimed Valrhona.

The collection will be introduced with the following flavours:
• Hawaiian Black Lava salt
• Australian Pink Salt
• Fleur de Sel
• Szechuan Pepper
• Brazilian Pink Pepper
• Tasmanian bush Pepper

Further additions will follow including Danish smoked salt, central African Long Pepper and Peruvian Leaf Pepper.

Gold winner at The Great Taste Awards 2008

It has been a record year for the Great Taste Awards with 2021 small food producers entering just under 4,800 foods for judging. We are proud to be one of only 220 artisan producers to be awarded a 2 star Gold for our Araguani 72% Ganache Chocolate.

The Araguani 72% itself is a blend of the finest beans from Venezuela. It has a powerfully bitter base with strong liquorice, raisin and chestnut notes. Burnt aromas of honey and hot bread! Enjoy the prolonged rich aromas well after the chocolate has been consumed. It forms part of our exclusive Pure Collection – the only collection of it’s kind in the UK which features the most interesting pure cocoas from around the world. Taste the strength of raw flavours found in cocoa and discover how they vary according to plantation, estate or geographical region.

A further Gold was awarded to our tasty Praline Spread made with delicious roasted hazelnuts & almonds blended with rich single origin Malagasy chocolate.

We are proud to announce that Chocolatier Marc Demarquette has been commissioned by Fortnum & Mason to create their unique collection of freshly hand-made luxury bespoke chocolates.
Using a variety of Fortnum & Mason's exclusive ingredients, Marc has created the new collection of 16 exciting flavours, which was launched at the prestigious London store in 2007. The range includes Fortnum's Honey and signature Royal Blend Tea as well as a selection of classic Demarquette favourites such as Seville Orange and Japanese Cherry Blossom.

The UK's first pure Wild Chocolate

Over the centuries man has cross pollinated and bred cocoa trees especially for flavour and yield to suit industrial production on a larger scale. Up until now, the UK has never been introduced to a grade A chocolate made from a pure Wild cocoa bean from cocoa trees which remain totally untampered by man. These Wild cocoa trees grow in an underdeveloped and hard to reach Amazon region of Bolivia on raised areas of land, which stick out like small islands in the middle of the swampland. We hand-mould the wild chocolate into individual bars as well as create a wild chocolate ganache as part of our 'Demarquette Pure Collection' of Single Origin chocolates.
